We'll live underground. Use bacon for clothes. (Bacon and Onion Pierogies)

“We'll live underground. Use bacon for clothes”. – Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

So you've seen the snarky bacon loving t-shirts, but how about socks or a tuxedo? Maybe you have a BIG BACON PARTY to go to this weekend, and want to look snazzy...Have no fear.  Bacon is here...

Delicious comfort food.  Couldn't think of what to make for dinner, and I found an old favorite in the freezer.  Pierogies. Add bacon, golden sauteed onions and cheddar and viola.  Dinner complete.  You won't complain!

Bacon and Onion Pierogies
1 (16-ounce) package frozen potato and onion pierogies (such as Mrs. T's)
6 bacon slices, chopped
1 large onion or 2 small-medium
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese

Sour Cream (optional)
2 tbsp butter
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.  In a Frying pan add chopped bacon and cook on medium heat until crisp.  Remove from the pan onto a papertowel-lined plate. Remove most of the bacon grease from the pan.  Add onions and cook on medium until onions are translucent.  Remove from pan.
In a medium saucepan, bring water to a rapid boil.  Add pierogies in batches (about 6 at a time) and let them boil for 3-4 minutes or until the pierogies float.  Meanwhile, in the frying pan, add butter and melt.  Add pre-boiled pierogies to the pan, and brown for 2-3 minutes per side, then flip.  Remove pierogies from frying pan and place in a shallow baking dish, as you finish the other pierogie batches.
Once the Pierogies are in the baking dish, top with cooked onions, chopped bacon and cheddar cheese.  Cook for 5-10 minutes, or until cheese has melted.
Serve with Sour Cream (optional).
